Taylor Swift Takes Fans Through Her 'Look What You Made Me Do' Video Looks

Taylor Swift literally had a mountain to climb when she set out to plan the costumes for the Mountain of Taylor Swift’s Past in the “Look What You Made Me Do” music video. Her official YouTube channel released another behind-the-scenes video in the run-up to the November 10 release of her album Reputation, and this time, she takes fans on a tour of her old costumes.

“Welcome to wardrobe land,” Swift says. “This is where the apocalypse of clothing has all congregated.” A pan around the packed room gives a sartorial summary of her extensive, 13-year-long career.

“Essentially, I’ve just done the longest fitting of my entire life,” she says while she’s dressed down in a black hoodie. “One of the craziest things about this video is that it’s kind of like calling back to looks of previous album cycles.”

“This is where we have the world of what we’re picking from the archives,” she says while holding her “Not a Lot Going On at the Moment” shirt from her “22” music video, which sits next to her blue dress from the “Our Song” music video her cheerleading outfit from “Shake It Off.” She said her team was picking which of her past looks they wanted to highlight for a “little sarcastic look down memory lane.”

She sits next to extras in her previous fashion choices while she wears her pajama outfit from “You Belong With Me,” covered in the names of squad members Lena Dunham, Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid. She goes down the line, naming where each outfit is from. When she turns to her crew members in the back, she jokes, “And you guys aren’t wearing any of my clothes so you can’t help me.”

She ends the costume tour by showing off a gold chain. “I am very, very, very excited,” she says. “And furthermore, I get to go home and eat Chinese food with my cats.”
