How To Live Stream the Oscars This Year

We're only a few days away from the biggest awards show of the year and I know I can't be the only one who doesn't have a television to watch The Oscars on this year. Just because I'm living a cable-free life, though, doesn't mean I can't watch the show. There are actually a ton of ways to live stream the Oscars this year, so, I don't have to miss a single moment. Finding out the best picture award was given to the wrong movie just isn't the same on Twitter. I really need to see that chaos live, you know what I mean?

You can tune in to the awards show this Sunday, March 4 to see which of your favorite stars will bring home a coveted golden statue. I'm hoping to see my girl Greta Gerwig bring home the award for best director for her stunning film Lady Bird. If she wins, she'll be just the second woman to win a best director Academy Award.

There are always a ton of pre shows before the actual show kicks off. It can get confusing when you're trying to figure out when the actual Awards show starts. The 2018 Oscars telecast begins at 8 p.m.  ET (5 p.m PT) only on ABC. Unless, of course, you're live streaming it.

For those of you who are in the same boat as me and won't be tuning in on your TV this Sunday, there are a few different options for live streaming the show. There will be live streaming available through ABC Go and the ABC app, as well as the option to steam the show on some subscription-based platforms. The subscription based platforms that will be streaming the Oscars this year are YouTube TV, Sling TV, DirecTV, and Playstation Vue.

If you can't catch the show live, though, you can still watch the entire show the next day on Hulu. It's never quite the same to watch it the next day, especially now with social media, but at least the option is there for those who can't watch live. I'd recommend staying off Twitter and Instagram all of Sunday night just in case. Everybody loves to live tweet these kinds of things, so, better to be safe than sorry.

Whether you're live streaming or tuning in to ABC, the Oscars are sure to be night of hilarious tweets, great new memes, and hopefully no disastrous mix ups. Okay, maybe just ONE disastrous mix up...
