Eve Weather Is Your Homes Backyard Best Friend

The Eve Weather Connected Weather Station is your homes backyard best friend giving you up to the second hyperlocal data on the humidity, temperature and weather trends right outside your home.

Over the last few years, I've become extremely interested in Smart Home technology. With good products from good companies, a good Smart Home setup integrates in to your specific life and ultimately makes your life easier. It stays out of the way so you don't have to think about it. In short, it just works. The Eve Weather - Connected Weather Station checks every box.

What is Eve Weather?

Eve Weather is a connected weather station that gives you up to the second data on what is happening with your weather and climate right outside of your door. Eve Weather tracks temperature, barometric pressure, humidity and weather which allows you to see trends over time as well as track what's happening at your home when you're not there. And with it's tight integration into Apple HomeKit, you can set up a seemingly limitless number of automations to trigger based on what Eve Weather finds.

For example, you can set up an automation in Apple HomeKit that triggers the Air Conditioning to turn on when Eve Weather records 90 degrees temperature outside. Are your windows open and a flash storm has hit? Eve Weather can trigger your Smart Lights to turn blue to let you know it's time to go shut the windows. The possibilities are endless, but all of them aim to make your life easier and your home smarter.

Eve Weather's Superpower is Thread

While Eve Weather itself is an absolutely incredible piece of technology that I couldn't see myself living without, it's real superpower is it's Thread integration. If you're unfamiliar with Thread, Eve has a very in-depth explainer on it here, but the jist is that Thread products expand the strength, reach and reliability of your Smart Home, so you no longer have to worry about spotty Wi-Fi areas in your home or get frustrated over lost connections. The more Thread integrated products you have, the faster and stronger your Smart Home becomes.

Let's take a look at a real use case: You know that spot in the basement corner where you have a HomeKit enabled Water Sensor, but the Wi-Fi is non-existent there? If you have Thread products nearby, it will expand your Smart Home network to give you more coverage, including in that area that was once a Wi-Fi dead zone. So now if you're out and about and a leak happens in your basement, you'll know immediately thanks to your Thread network. Eve has been a leader in bringing Thread integration to all of their new and upcoming products.
